Light: Most prefer bright and moderate direct sunlight. It depends on the variety, but many palms can handle full sunlight.
Watering: Water regularly, leaving the soil moist but not soggy. Do not let Palms sit in water as this can lead to root rot. Reduce watering during the winter months.
Humidity: Keeping the humidity around or above 50% is ideal.
Temperature: Keeping any variety above 60 degrees will keep these plants happy.
Soil: A well draining mix is best for palms. It allows for drainage while also keeping moisture.
Fertilizer: Fertilize with a general or tropical plant fertilizer during the growing season.
Toxicity: Many different species of palm trees exist, most of which are not toxic. Research specific types before taking one home.
