A consultation, lasting up to one hour, in which the designer meets on site and walks the property with you. The consult will review the current state of the landscape and get pictures and site details to generate a bid for either one time clean up or on going maintenance services.
We belong to a number of green industry associations and one of the great benefits of membership is getting to hear new ideas and different slants on current trends in the lawn and landscape arena. It is particularly interesting to hear the thoughts of people brand new to the industry. About 10 years ago we were in a meeting where members were promoting their hot ideas for the upcoming year; a young man in his 20’s stood up and told the group that he was investing in a large number of palm trees (many full grown) with which he was going to decorate pool and patio areas. He was able to purchase the trees at a great price and was sure everyone in the Kansas City area would want a tropical paradise in their back yard. While we thought it was a unique idea, we recognized that there were insurmountable problems with his idea—and unfortunately we never saw this young man back at a meeting. The moral of the story: experience counts! Soil Service has been landscaping and providing sound gardening advice for over 80 years and quite frankly, we’ve just about seen it all, and in that time have learned how to deal with a huge variety of problems and opportunities.
