Mulch
Mulch can help shade the soil from the sun, helps retain moisture and helps prevent weeds from growing. In the off season, mulch can be used to cover and protect your flower garden.
There are many types of mulch available at Soil Service - bagged for you convenience!
Soil Service Mulch Products:
Southern Cypress Mulch: Our most economical mulch option, cypress mulch resists rotting and has an attractive light blond/brown tint aging to a soft grey. Natural, non-dyed.
Dyed Red & Brown Mulches: Soil Service carries pressure-injected dyed mulches resistant to leeching compared to spray-dyed mulches. Avoid the stained walkways and driveways with these mulch options.
All-Bark Cedar Mulch: Shredded all-bark cedar mulch is our best option for weed control and moisture retention. A rich dark brown color, this mulch’s best characteristic is its ability to stay put. Shredding the fibrous cedar bark creates a mulch resistant to being washed or blown away. Excellent for windy or sloped site where other mulches fail.
Pine Bark Mulch: Available in Small, Medium, or Large grade nuggets. Creates a very attractive, natural woodland look. Simple installation as this mulch is easily raked & is suited for flat, sheltered sites. Great for annual, perennial, & vegetable beds where continual pulling back of mulch for new plantings is a concern.
Coco Shell Mulch: The leftovers from Coco bean processing; this mulch doubles as outdoor garden potpourri. Before your guests arrive, use this unique mulch as a top dressing to garden beds & enjoy as your yard is filled instantly with the welcome scent of chocolate.
“Soil Pep” Shredded/Composted Pine Bark: Soil Service’s own special blend from the mulch farm. A favorite of our customers, Soil Pep is very useful in top dressing beds as well as being used as a soil conditioning additive that breaks up clay soils. Also retains a rich black tint all season with no dyes applied. Simply the partially composted remains of our Pine Bark Mulches. Breaks down readily in soils as an added benefit.
