Soil and Mulch

Soil Service Soil Additives:

“Soil Pep” Shredded/Composted Pine Bark: Soil Service’s own special blend from the mulch farm. A favorite of our customers, Soil Pep is very useful in top dressing beds as well as being used as a soil conditioning additive that breaks up clay soils. Also retains a rich black tint all season with no dyes applied. Simply the partially composted remains of our Pine Bark Mulches. Breaks down readily in soils as an added benefit. A Soil Service Exclusive.

Back-to-Nature Cotton Burr Compost: With the ability to break up clay soils and improve moisture retention while adding nutrient value into gardens, Cotton Burr Compost has been a gardener’s go-to amendment. By adding organically rich materials into soil profiles, gardeners can expect increased plant vigor and health. Realize that many “composts” sold in chain stores are formed primarily from discarded shipping supplies that has been buried & bagged upon decomposition. Hazardous chemicals and toxins that can be found in those materials can potentially be in those same bags of compost meant for homeowner gardens. With Cotton Burr Compost, know that your garden will be free of such chemicals.

Nature's Blend with Alfalfa & Humate: is a balanced blend of composted cotton burrs, composted cattle manure, alfalfa and humate.  Alfalfa is high in nitrogen and contains Triacantanol, a natural growth enhancer, and may help in the suppression and control of certain fungal diseases in lawns.  Humate activates beneficial soil organisms and is an important source of humic acid and micronutrients. Nature's Blend with Alfalfa & Humate works great as a top dressing or soil amendment.
